Last week my husband went to Hong Kong for his work and I was lucky enough to tag along. I had not been to Hong Kong yet and seeing we were only there for two days it seemed like a good idea to book a scenic tour to see as much as possible in a short time. The Hong Kong Island tour took us to Repulse Bay, the Stanley Market, Victoria Peak (the weather was terrible for photos) and the tram, and finally the fishing village Abedeen where we got to ride on a "sampan".
Last week our school had its International Week and my daughter asked me to make a traditional NZ costume. I made the top and the skirt was kindly made by my mum in law and my friend Henny (both dutch). They did a fantastic job and Celine looked great in her traditional dress complete with moko (facial tattoo). Its been a long time since I have made poi's but they looked ok. This is one very proud Kiwi!
Other news
Sadly my mum in law has gone home again this week (back to the cold)...it will be very quiet without her but hopefully she will be back soon...
My parents have booked their flights to Holland via Singapore and will be coming here in June. Yeah! Im looking forward to being able to show them around.
We have found a new house and will be moving in April. It will even have a sewing room. Yeah!
With everything that has been happening I haven't had much time to work on my quilt. This week it looks like I will be making costumes for the school play. Hopefully Celine will give me a hand with that this long weekend (due to Chinese new year).
Well thats all for now. Wishing you all a very happy and properous new year!
