My super dooper day

Today was WONDERFUL!  It was one of those days that were super-productive.  The day started off with going to church followed by home made sausage rolls (YUM!).  Then it was time to pull out the sewing machine and work on the things that have been piling up due to lack of time (or energy!).

First off, the Kitty Bags.  Arent these just Gorgeous!  They are made from recycled Jeans.  The ladies from school have been making these and I got to finish a couple at home.  They have also been making casserole holders...great for keeping those casseroles warm for those pot luck dinners.

If you want to buy these goodies (and lots more) you will need to come to the American Club (Claymore St, Singapore) on Thursday 5 November as our school will be having a stall at the AWA annual fair.  See you there!

After the bags, I got to work on finishing my "Beaches" quilt from my class at the Houston Quilt Festival.  I really enjoyed working with the embellishments and will be keeping a watchful eye for interesting wool, lace, and other fancy things.

"Beaches"
37 x 46 cm (14.5 x 18")

On another note, I had my two woven quilts in the Quilt sale in Wellington, NZ this past week.  Every other sale I have sold all the quilts that were entered.  I have been eagerly awaiting their daily updates in the hope that one or  both of the quilts have found new homes.  Alas, it was not to be.  This is the first year that I have not been able to help at the show, and it was always nice to get a "feel" of the show, what the people were buying, what was popular and what was not. Being so far away made me feel a little helpless...... Did I overprice them? Did no-one like them? Did they mysteriously fall  apart after sending?  who knows!
I guess its silly to think like that......  I'll just keep making more quilts and try again next time!
