tree project

Ok so this is my latest project. This photo was taken in Singapore around the Clarke Quay area during our photo shoot for the art class I took last year.

The bark on this tree was really interesting and so I decided I would try and turn this into a quilt...ok so it's very different from the last fabric weaving quilt!

Anyway, this is the progress so far. I still need to add shading into the windows of the building and the remaining branches will need to be machine embroidered before the leaves are added.
I am looking forward to the machine embroidery as I haven't done any for a while.
The Sashiko placemats are still in progress but that is a "sit down in front of the tv" type of project.
Next week I will go and see if I can get a suit tailor made for my neices wedding in Holland in April. Spring Break (more school holidays) is nearly upon us so Im not sure if I will get much quilting done in the next couple of weeks. Perhaps Ill just squeeze some in anyway.

I can see that this is going to be AWESOME when completed. Great angles and perspective.
